Ingredients 10 items

  • 500 g skinned chicken breast fillets cut in cubes
  • 7 cups or 1750 ml water
  • 2 medium onions or 300 g, cut into small cubes
  • 2 cloves crushed garlic
  • 75 g or ½ cup frike washed and drained
  • 2 cubes MAGGI Less Salt Chicken Stock
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 100 g artichoke bottoms sliced
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

How to prepare

  1. Place chicken pieces and water in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil and skim froth as it appears.
  2. Add onion, garlic, Frike, MAGGI Less Salt Chicken Stock cubes and cinnamon. Simmer covered for 1 hour or until Frike and chicken are cooked.
  3. Season with black pepper then add artichoke, lemon juice and simmer for another 10 minutes or until artichokes are cooked.
