  • For the dough:
  • 1 tin Nestle® Sweetened Condensed Milk 397g
  • 1 packet 1 packet of active dry yeast
  • 1 cup water (warm/40° C)
  • 2 large eggs (lightly beaten)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 4 cups flour
  • For the filling:
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup walnuts
  • 3 teaspoons cinnamon powder
  • ½ cup margarine (softened)
  • For the icing:
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup sugar (powdered)
  • ½ cup cream cheese (low fat)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

How to prepare

  1. Dissolve yeast in water and allow to sit for 10 minutes until foamy or activated. Meanwhile, combine half the tin of Nestlé® Sweetened Condensed Milk with eggs in a mixing bowl, then add yeast mixture & vegetable oil.
  2. Mix at a low speed and gradually incorporate flour into the milk mixture to form a dough. Knead dough until smooth, cover and allow to rest until dough rises.
  3. Prepare filling by mixing the remaining half of Nestlé® Sweetened Condensed Milk, brown sugar, walnuts and cinnamon until all ingredients are coated. Prepare icing by beating together the butter, powdered sugar, cream cheese and vanilla then set aside at room temperature.
  4. Roll dough to form a rectangle about 30x20 cm in size and 1cm thick, spread walnut filling over it then roll the dough along its longer side to form a 30 cm log. Cut the log into 3 cm wheels and place on a greased deep baking dish, allowing about 2 cm between each roll. Cover and allow to rest for another 30 minutes to rise further and double in size.
  5. Bake at 180° C in a preheated oven for 30 minutes or until risen and golden on top. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before drizzling over the cinnamon rolls.
